The Assessor's Office for Greeley County is located on the second floor of the Greeley County Courthouse. The courthouse offices are open to the public Monday through Friday 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Duties:
The Assessor's Office for Greeley County has the duty to value all real and personal property in Greeley County as a basis for the Greeley County Board of Equalization to levy the necessary taxes. State statue provides that a uniform method of valuing property is required. State statue requires all property to be valued at market or actual value as of 12:01 A.M. January 1 of every tax year. Residential, commercial, and industrial property must be valued at 100% of market. Agricultural and or horticultural land must be valued in a range 69-75% of market. The Assessor and Deputy Assessor must be certified by the Nebraska Department of Revenue Property Assessment Division in order to hold the position and must have continuing education hours to maintain a valid certificate.
